Patagonia Without Borders

With views to the Electric Valley and the Marconi Glacier, Explora in El Chaltén opened its doors on December 15, 2021. 17 km away from El Chaltén –in the Argentinean Patagonia– the lodge is a headquarters from where to explore a world-renowned destination by those who love nature and trekking.
The Explora lodge in El Chaltén has been strategically built within the Los Huemules Conservation Reserve, our long-standing conservation partners in the region.

Patagonia is not a country nor a place. It is a vast territory shared by Chile and Argentina, whose remarkable geography –shaped by mountains, glaciers, lakes, and rivers– offers countless exploration opportunities.

This program from 8 nights connects Torres del Paine in Chile with El Chaltén in Argentina, on a lodge-to-lodge trip exploring deep Patagonia without borders. Starting from USD 7,698 for 8 nights per person between October and April.

Connect and live Patagonia. Explore every corner of this vast territory with an expert in the region and visit extensive pampas, imposing mountains, lakes and lagoons, endemic forests, glaciers, conservation reserves, rivers, and valleys with our different and exclusive explorations.

Our destinations are connected with exclusive Explora vehicles, and the frequency of the transfer is subject to the schedule of arrivals and departures from Torres del Paine. The driving time between our Torres del Paine and El Chaltén lodges takes about 8 hours.

On these trips between Chile and Argentina, we will accompany you from the beginning to end with an all-inclusive program through our lodges and to our own renowned guides: accommodation in Explora lodges, transfers in private planes and our own vans, meals, bar, a selection of wines, guided explorations, and all entrance fees to national parks.

The Argentinean Pablo Jesús Rivero –a leading figure of Argentinean cuisine and owner of Don Julio, chosen as the 10° top restaurant in Latin America according to The World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2021 ranking– along with Guido Tassi –also Argentinean chef and adviser at Don Julio– designed the new menu for Explora El Chaltén.

The menu is sustained on the interpretation of the surroundings, nature, and culinary landscape. We will only use seasonal raw materials purchased from small farmers, produced with agroecological standards, and even wild harvested products.

Built for disconnection and immersion in nature with amazing views of the ñirre forest, we offer a space of relaxation where our travelers can enjoy two massage rooms, two saunas and five open-air Jacuzzis.

In addition, there are six lounge chairs outside and a shower with a view of the valley and the Eléctrico River, perfect after a day of exploration.
